The Messy Gardener
A photo journal of our western Massachusetts garden.
I'm a messy gardener. Don't let the lovely macros I sometimes deliver to my photo blog fool you. Over-all, my garden is low-budget, low-maintenance and there are times when I talk to the weeds. :-)
A journal of our humble New England garden. Dedicated to W.P., with love.

End of Summer Yellows
The sunflowers are happy this year. Interesting to note that their faces like to face north. Not sure why.
And a priceless yellow rose. My favorite rose color.
Interesting direction. They like to follow the sun which runs east/west (duh, like you didn't know that). Anyhoo, I woner if they are actually moving in a northeastly/northwesterly direction. Very pretty. Like the series very much showing the emerging bloom.
Thank you all so much for the nice comments. I'm having trouble with the comments for this blog not showing up in my email or on the blogger dashboard. If I don't check the actual blog, I don't know that I even have comments.
Will try to visit your blogs when time allows. It's a very busy time right now.
Regarding the sunflowers. I guess I pay more attention to my flowers than I ever have. I now see that the sunflowers have, in fact, righted themselves toward the east. Paying attention to flowers is a very good thing. :-)

Love your flowers ... my favorite in my garden is a yellow rose "Chinatown". Yours is very beautiful too!

There's something about sunflowers - their "chunkiness," I think - which really amazes me.
Nice photos! :)
Great pictures on the Sunflower !!!
Love to see from bud to open flower.
